    Accounting – Students will be exposed to the basics of accounting and its role in the financial world. Students will apply accounting basics, such as balance sheets, debits, and credits to real world situations. They will also learn computerized accounting, which will enable the students to continue to develop further computer skills, such as Excel.


    Banking and Insurance – This course provides a high level overview of our nation’s banking and insurance industries. The students will be exposed to the interactions between banks and consumers, both individual and corporate. They will also learn about the Federal Reserve’s role as the bank’s bank and creator of fiscal policy. In addition to learning about banking, the students will study the role of insurance in our economy and the types that exist. While the students learn the content, they will continue to develop critical thinking, presentation, and teamwork skills.


    English for Law and Finance - Through mastery of reading and writing English we will explore the fields of law and finance. The skills and knowledge gained in this class will facilitate each student’s ability to pass the required Regents exams and graduate high school with admission into a college of their choice. This class will demonstrate to students how achievement in their other subjects (Math, Science, American History and English) is critical if they desire success in the areas of law and finance. Students will also complete this course with the understanding that knowledge of law and finance is important regardless of the career path they eventually choose. This course is taken during the freshman year.


    Business and Computer Applications - In this class you will gain knowledge and skills in computer literacy, keyboarding, the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint, careers in law and finance and the Stock Market game. While we are learning these important skills and concepts, we will also be learning about the fields of law and finance. This course is taken during the sophomore year.
